They say the only person you should compare yourself to is who you were yesterday.

Well IN YOUR FACE YESTERDAY-ME because look at me now.

Yesterday-me started 20 years ago writing gas bill letters and credit card mailings. Today-me drinks zero-alcohol craft beers while writing global campaigns and saying things like “check out this podcast”.

Yesterday-me knew nothing about strategy, about advertising history, about leading a team. Today-me knows at least some things about some of those things.

Yesterday-me worked as a painter, a lorry driver’s mate, a call centre-er, a cocktail shaker. Jeez, today-me wouldn’t even take yesterday-me’s calls. Especially as no-one even calls these days, yesterday-me, it’s all WhatsApp now you loser.
